The only beach in Tel Aviv-Yafo set aside for separate bathing for the religious and haredi public, screened from its neighbours by a wooden partition. In the bathing season it is open to women on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and to men on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It holds the international Blue Flag standard.

Entry is free. Public toilets accessible to people with mobility impairments, beach showers, shade shelters and drinking fountains are all free. Deckchair and sunbed rental is run by the beach concession and priced on the spot. Parking is the real cost of the day.

Parking

Paid parking only; the municipality points visitors to its city car-park map. On summer Fridays the north Tel Aviv lots fill by mid-morning.

Getting there

About an hour's drive from Jerusalem on Route 1. By train, Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon to Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz takes roughly 35 minutes, then a short bus ride or taxi north-west to Nordau. Note that the separation days run Sunday to Friday, so a Sunday day-trip works well by train.

Insider tips

Women swim Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday; men swim Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
A wooden partition screens the beach from Hilton Beach on either side.
Barbecues, bonfires, parties, dogs and water sports are all banned here.
Swimming is only permitted while lifeguards are on duty — check the month's hours before you drive down.
Accessible chairs for getting into the water can be used during operating hours.
