Closed to general visitors: the Israel Museum lists it as temporarily closed, and since July 2025 it opens only for guided group tours run by the Tower of David Museum, booked in advance. A white limestone Mandate-era museum just outside the Old City walls near Herod's Gate, holding finds from excavations across the country between 1919 and 1948, displayed largely as they were laid out when the building opened. It has been run as part of the Israel Museum since 1968.

Préparer la visite
No walk-in visits or regular hours. Guided group tours (Tower of David Museum, weekly, English about once a month) must be booked in advance; NIS 100 per ticket as of December 2025, shuttle from Givat HaMivtar light-rail station. Check the Tower of David Museum's site for dates.
- Book a guided tour in advance through the Tower of David Museum; there are no walk-in visits.
- The 1930s building, with its hexagonal tower and courtyard pool, is as much the attraction as the collection.
- It is a short walk outside the walls from Damascus Gate or Herod's Gate; driving here is the hard way.
- Displays are largely original Mandate-era cases with sparse labelling - come for the objects and the atmosphere.
