A northern Dead Sea beach about 25 minutes from Jerusalem, with mineral mud on the shore, freshwater swimming pools, wide lawns and an air-conditioned kosher restaurant looking out over the sea. It is a declared bathing beach with lifeguards and an entrance fee.

A declared bathing beach with an entrance fee, but the amount is not published on the Dead Sea Land listing and the beach's own site was unreachable, so phone 02-9942781 before you set out. On site: freshwater pools, lockers, changing rooms, beach showers, sunbeds, shade sheets, drinking-water taps, a wet bar and a kosher restaurant. Not a Nature and Parks Authority site, so the annual pass does not apply.

About 25 minutes' drive from Jerusalem on Route 1 and Route 90. Egged lines 486, 444 and 421 from Jerusalem Central Bus Station serve the northern Dead Sea; there is no service from Friday afternoon until Saturday night.
